Darin was a nationally ranked junior before playing Division I tennis at UCLA, where he went undefeated in his senior year. Following his collegiate career, he competed on the ATP Tour and earned world rankings in both singles and doubles.

After his playing career, Darin turned to coaching and quickly gained recognition for his effective tournament training methods, developing nationally ranked juniors across California, Arizona, and Texas. With his extensive background as both a player and coach, Darin brings a wealth of expertise to Grey Rock Tennis Club, working with players of all ages and abilities to help them reach their full potential.

Danny Rodriguez, a PTR-certified professional, grew up in Brownsville, Texas, where he began his coaching career at the Brownsville Tennis Center assisting with junior and adult programs. He later served as an Assistant Tennis Professional at Briarcrest Country Club in Bryan, Texas, and as an instructor for the City of College Station.

At Grey Rock, Danny is an Associate Pro and serves as the club’s liaison to the WTTA league. He also works with the Pee-Wee and Grand Prix programs and is available for private and group lessons. Danny brings energy, experience, and a strong developmental focus to every player he works with.

Gus is a PTR-certified professional and retired Colombian diplomat who relocated from Washington, D.C. to Austin in 2003. In addition to his PTR certification, he holds a USTA QuickStart Tennis Training Program certification.

At Grey Rock, Gus works primarily with our Pee-Wee, Grand Prix, and Summer Camp programs, where his patience, enthusiasm, and international perspective help introduce young players to the game and build a strong foundation for future growth.

Chris Haggard is a retired professional tennis player from South Africa. As a collegiate standout, he was the singles runner-up at the 1991 NAIA National Championships while competing for Auburn University–Montgomery. Chris turned professional in 1993 and went on to capture six ATP Tour doubles titles and reach 12 additional finals.

He achieved a career-high doubles ranking of World No. 19 in September 2003 and competed in World TeamTennis with the Delaware Smash until 2009. Today, Chris brings his wealth of international playing experience to Grey Rock, helping players develop their skills and love for the game.

Alex is a USPTA and PTR Certified pro with extensive experience working with players of all levels, from beginners to touring professionals. Much of his career has been dedicated to coaching women on the WTA and ITF Tours, as well as guiding high-performance juniors through national and international competition.

At Grey Rock, Alex serves as the Business Manager and directs the Junior Grand Prix and PATP Programs, bringing both his professional expertise and organizational leadership to the club. His background in player development and tour-level coaching makes him a valuable resource for athletes striving to reach their full potential.

Connor is a PTR Certified Professional who works with players of all ages and skill levels, from young beginners to competitive adults. He is actively involved in the Junior Grand Prix Program, the Junior PATP Program, and also assists with the High Performance ATP Program, helping players sharpen both their technical and tactical skills.

Connor’s patient, encouraging coaching style makes him a great fit for juniors building their foundation as well as adults looking to improve their game. He is available for private lessons, semi-private lessons, and hitting sessions.

Jorge is a dedicated coach who works with players of all ages and skill levels. He is actively involved in the Junior Grand Prix Program and the PATP Program, where he helps junior players develop strong technical and tactical foundations. In addition, Jorge coaches several USTA and WTTA league teams, guiding adults in both practice and match play.

Known for his supportive and motivating approach, Jorge is available for private lessons, group lessons, and team practices.

Originally from Romania, Luana competed in Division I college tennis in the United States before beginning her coaching career. She first joined Grey Rock Tennis Club as an intern in 2019, where she gained hands-on experience working with our junior and adult programs.

Now a member of the staff, Luana brings her background as a high-level player and coach to the court, helping players of all ages and abilities improve their game. In addition to coaching, she is also a rising talent on the PPA (Professional Pickleball Association) Tour, competing against some of the best players in the country.

When she’s not traveling for tournaments, Luana is back at Grey Rock assisting with junior development, adult clinics, and private lessons. Her international background, Division I playing experience, and dual focus on tennis and pickleball make her a unique and valuable part of the Grey Rock professional team.
